Terms of Service
Effective date: September 6, 2026
These Terms govern your access to and use of SolarBrain's website, dashboard, integrations, automations, support channels, and related services. By creating an account, starting a trial, connecting services, purchasing a subscription, or otherwise using SolarBrain, you agree to these Terms.
1. What SolarBrain Is
SolarBrain is a software orchestration platform for monitoring and automating compatible power systems. It may display inverter and battery data, monitor utility-grid and generator availability, interact with compatible smart switches, execute user-configured rules, and estimate energy usage or cost. SolarBrain is not an electricity provider, electrical contractor, equipment manufacturer, emergency service, or safety-certified transfer-control device.
2. Accounts
You must have legal capacity or authorization to use the account and connected equipment. You are responsible for accurate account information and protecting your credentials.
3. Trial
The current 7-day free trial is limited to:
- Up to three enabled automations.
- Up to three mapped managed smart switches.
4. Paid Subscriptions
Paid billing applies only when SolarBrain makes payment processing available. Price, billing period, currency, taxes, renewal behavior, and payment-provider terms shown at checkout will control the purchase. If recurring billing is unavailable, continued service may require manual renewal.
5. Cancellation and Refunds
Cancellation or non-renewal does not automatically entitle you to a refund for a purchased period. Checkout terms and mandatory consumer rights under applicable law will apply. Nothing here limits rights that cannot legally be waived.
6. Third-Party Services
SolarBrain may depend on inverter-cloud services, smart-switch services such as eWeLink, messaging providers, hosting providers, and payment providers. They may change, become unavailable, impose limits, or modify functionality outside SolarBrain's control.
7. Electrical Safety
SolarBrain is not a substitute for physical electrical safety systems. You are responsible for appropriate breakers, transfer switches, interlocks, contactors, inverter protections, wiring, grounding, ratings, and other safeguards required by your equipment and jurisdiction.
Installation or modification of mains-voltage equipment should be performed or reviewed by a qualified electrician. Do not use SolarBrain as the only mechanism preventing unsafe backfeed, generator/grid parallel operation, overload, fire, battery damage, electric shock, or another hazardous condition.
8. Automations and Remote Control
Automations depend on configured conditions, telemetry, connectivity, third-party APIs, stored state, and system timing. Delays, stale data, outages, failed commands, or conflicting equipment behavior can occur. Review new rules carefully and maintain manual controls and physical protections.
9. Energy, Cost, Simulator, and Savings Information
Energy usage, cost calculations, simulator results, battery estimates, tariff comparisons, savings estimates, and similar information are for planning and educational purposes and may rely on user-entered tariffs, assumptions, incomplete data, third-party telemetry, and device accuracy.
Any "up to 70%" savings statement is a potential target, not a guarantee. Actual savings depend on electricity tariffs, generator cost and dependence, solar production, battery capacity and efficiency, appliance loads, user behavior, hardware capability, and automation configuration.
SolarBrain does not guarantee a specific financial saving, payback period, energy reduction, battery-life improvement, or utility outcome.
10. No Proprietary Hardware Requirement
SolarBrain is currently designed to operate with supported third-party equipment and does not require a SolarBrain-branded proprietary hardware device. Compatibility is not universal.
11. Acceptable Use
- Do not use the Service unlawfully or control equipment you are not authorized to manage.
- Do not bypass authentication, security, trial limits, or subscription controls.
- Do not attack, overload, scrape, or disrupt SolarBrain except where such restrictions are prohibited by law.
- Do not rely on SolarBrain as the sole control in life-safety, medical, emergency, industrial-safety, or similarly high-risk environments.
12. Availability and Changes
We may improve, modify, add, remove, or discontinue features. We aim for reliable operation but do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or real-time availability.
13. Intellectual Property
SolarBrain's software, branding, interface, documentation, original graphics, and related materials are owned by SolarBrain or its licensors. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service for authorized purposes.
14. Feedback
If you submit feedback, ideas, or feature requests, you give SolarBrain permission to use, adapt, evaluate, and implement that feedback without obligation to compensate you.
15. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how SolarBrain handles personal information and connected-service data.
16. Suspension and Termination
We may suspend or terminate access where reasonably necessary because of non-payment, expiration, misuse, security risk, fraud, legal requirements, or violation of these Terms.
17. Disclaimers and Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. SolarBrain will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost savings, lost revenue, data, goodwill, or business interruption arising from use of the Service.
Where liability cannot be excluded, aggregate liability will be limited to the greater of the amount you paid SolarBrain during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim or any minimum amount required by applicable law.
18. Your Equipment and Configuration
You remain responsible for your electrical system, connected equipment, tariff configuration, third-party accounts, internet connection, physical installation, and automation choices.
19. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms as SolarBrain evolves. Material changes will be posted with a revised effective date and additional notice where required by law.
20. Applicable Law and Consumer Rights
Mandatory consumer-protection, privacy, product-safety, and contract rights in your jurisdiction continue to apply where they cannot legally be waived. Before full paid launch, SolarBrain may specify the final contracting entity, governing law, dispute forum, tax treatment, and jurisdiction-specific terms.
21. Contact
Questions about these Terms can be sent through the support/contact channels published on getsolarbrain.com.
